Through the initial efforts of a few people, this volunteer organization has grown to work with area businesses and hundreds of individuals to create back-to-school kits of backpacks, school supplies and new clothing.  We coordinate the various social service agencies and qualify all of the children we help on both sides of the state line.  S.O.S. provides children, at all grade levels, the necessary items they need to go back to school.  As a volunteer organization, it has been the mission to help as many children as possible and over the years our program has helped nearly 115,000 children.  Serving 42 counties, Project SOS has made it essential to leave no child behind. 

Our volunteers, corporations and individuals join together to make a huge difference serving these disadvantaged children.  Through Project S.O.S. the Kansas City Metro area has united in helping to provide these children with the school supplies they need. And since the beginning, S.O.S. has generated nearly $7.8 million in donations of cash and supplies.

WE know our efforts are making a difference.  Each year, we get literally thousands of thank you letters from students, teachers and caregivers telling us so.   Come join us…you too can make a difference!
